Description
A natural question arises: Can a human be immortal?
The answer is not simple. Even today, humanity has not crossed the boundaries that grant true immortality. Yet, at times, nature has bent its rules for a few extraordinary individuals.
Such exceptional beings are known as the Seven Chiranjeevis. They are called “Chiranjeevi” because they transcended the cycle of life and death, achieving immortality.
The Seven Chiranjeevis are:
Parshuram
Bali
Vibhishan
Hanuman
Maharishi Ved Vyasa
Kripacharya
Ashwatthama
There are common misconceptions about some of them. For example, hearing Parshuram’s name often brings to mind a sage of extreme anger. But his wrath was directed solely against tyrannical and unjust kings.
After meeting Lord Rama, an ideal and just king, Parshuram retired to meditate on Mahendra Giri mountain. He is considered an Avatara (partial incarnation) of Lord Vishnu and is revered as an obedient and extraordinary son.
These Chiranjeevis are not just figures of legend—they symbolize virtue, justice, and the human potential to rise above ordinary limits.
