Description
Pakkaistan ka Safar is the only travelogue written by the great actor Balraj Sahni. In this memoir, Sahni recounts his remarkable and emotional journey to Pakistan. By the time he undertook this trip, he was already a world-renowned actor, yet he found himself longing for the home where he had spent his childhood—a home that now stood across the border in Pakistan. Though that house was no longer his, nor did any of his relatives live there, and it now belonged to strangers, Sahni hesitated to visit it. His friend Sikandar persuaded him not to be burdened by unnecessary hesitation and to visit his old home freely. When Sahni finally walked through the familiar streets of his youth and knocked on the door of the house whose courtyard had witnessed his childhood, the current owner embraced him warmly and welcomed him like a long-lost family member.
