About the Author

Calcutta born Sujoy Das is a self-made photographer and journalist, combining the two mediums in producing photo essays, editorial photography and photojournalism. Based primarily in and around the Himalayas, he has also worked on photographing Nepal. Das is also the founder of South Col Expeditions, which specialises in arranging treks and photography workshops in the Himalayas and their foothills. He has worked closely on documenting displaced Tibetan communities; the role of unemployed youth in Assam and with tribal Women in Nepal. He has further exhibited his work in the Lalit Kala Akademi and the Indian Mountaineering Foundation Museum (New Delhi).
