Janaki Ammal

Janaki Ammal was India’s first woman botanist. She was a brilliant student and went on to study about plants, vegetables, flowers and more. She went abroad to study and work, and even developed new varieties of plants and flowers. It is because of her that extensive study was done of India’s native plants, a whole forest was saved, and our sugar became even sweeter!
