Description
The Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) was established in March 1972 as an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Its primary aim is to promote objective and scientific methods of historical writing and to foster awareness of the country’s civilizational heritage. To achieve these goals, ICHR regularly reviews the latest historical research and identifies neglected and emerging areas of study.
The Council emphasizes its unwavering commitment to Kashmir, affirming that the region—from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Dwarka to the Northeast—belongs to all Indians, and likewise, every Kashmiri belongs to this nation.
Prominent figures have praised ICHR’s initiatives:
- **Shri Amit Shah**, Union Home Minister, described the exhibition as a valuable learning experience and suggested it be showcased across India for the benefit of the youth.
- **Justice Abhay S. Oka**, Hon’ble Judge of the Supreme Court of India, commended the effort.
- **Dr. Karan Singh**, former Governor of Jammu & Kashmir and Union Minister, noted that this is the first publication to do justice to these regions while revealing fascinating facts previously unknown to the public.
- **Shri N.N. Vohra**, former Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, called the presentation grand and impactful, recommending that all schoolchildren should have the opportunity to view the exhibition.
The exhibition and publication are recognized for their compelling visuals and narratives, offering a fresh and inclusive perspective on India’s historical and cultural landscape.
