Billy Bunter's Beanfeast

Though in normal circumstances scarcely one of the most popular members of the Remove, Billy Bunter suddenly became the object of affectionate attention from, on the one hand, Skinner, Stott and Snoop, and on the other, Fisher T. Fish, the miserly young New Yorker. They were all amazingly anxious to be in Bunter's good graces, to such an extent, in fact, that Fish was prepared to twist his heart by expending priceless cash on a feed for the fat Owl!

For Bunter was in possession of a boon – eight tickets for a steamer excursion to Boulogne on Founder's Day. The Famous Five were booked, but there was someone else interested in one of the vacancies – Vernon Smith who had fancied his chances at the gaming-table with a system he had devised.

Bunter's party was at length completed, and the steamer left from Pegg Bay at the appointed time, carrying, among the other passengers, Horace Coker of the Fifth, with his bosom pals, Potter and Greene, whose path crossed that of the Removites on more than one occasion: usually with hilarious results.
