Description
The stories included in this collection reveal the darkness of growing injustice and inequality spreading with new force in our world, along with the superficial glitter, false glamour, and resulting despair of a consumerist society. Here, the crises of politics, corporates, religion, and the environment emerge through a new narrative form and a strikingly original language, exploring both human and inhuman relationships. By “form,” the author does not mean mere linguistic showmanship that ignores the knots of tradition, the tangles of history, or the truths of ordinary human life. Instead, these stories travel through their own unfamiliar and difficult paths, moving with equal ease through basements, ruined alleys, slums, forests, graveyards, cremation grounds, high-rise buildings, and even beehives.
