Description
Meghalaya, the land of cloud-kissed plateaus, cascading valleys, and vibrant traditions, is more than just a frontier—it is a meeting ground of nature, culture, and resilience, where the Border Security Force (BSF) stands steadfast in its duty while becoming an integral part of the region’s fabric. In this evocative coffee table book, Shri Harbax Singh Dhillon invites readers on a journey that is at once visual, historical, and deeply personal. Through photographs, sketches, and poetry, the book captures the many faces of Meghalaya—its breathtaking landscapes, diverse communities, and the timeless rhythm of life along its borders. Interwoven is the story of the BSF, guardians of sovereignty who, beyond patrolling, share bonds of trust and kinship with the people they serve. Both a tribute and a record, this volume celebrates the spirit of Meghalaya and the BSF, offering readers a work of beauty, memory, and belonging. Shri Harbax Singh Dhillon, serving as the Inspector General of the Border Security Force, brings over 37 years of experience in border management and internal security duties. His distinguished career spans service across almost all frontiers bordering Pakistan and Bangladesh, extensive involvement in combating militancy in Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast, and international assignments, including as a member of the UN Mission to Kosovo, where he held the portfolio of Tactical Head and Deputy Chief (Operations). He also represented India in SCO-RATS for three consecutive years.
